With Rats... people often believe they are disgusting creatures who deserve mistreatment and being thrown in the sewers. Whereas.. people don't understand that a pet rat, /pet/ rat, is about as similar to a wild rat as a wolf is to dogs..
People fear them because of disease. What? I'm pretty sure humans have 100 times more diseases than rats. They're not dirty. They're the cleanest rodents out there.

I find this quote to be associated with many, many things. Not just rats as I've portrayed in the picture.
I feel this quote can be linked to any bias or prejudices in the world. Human prejudices against the LGBTQ community, against other races, genders, interests and more. Animal prejudices, as well, like BSL and people who find creatures gross or evil when they know not a thing about them.

So something I cannot stress enough: Always strive to understand. Understand why people and animals are the way they are. You have no right to judge what you do not understand.
